A fine forehead thermometer. Now if it shows 38.2 instead of 38.4, I don't care. If it shows 37.2, I check it with a regular one. Anyway, even if it shows 37 in a regular one, you measure again. It takes a little getting used to the distance and the point to take the measurements. Almost no deviation. If you want this kind of thermometer, don't think about it.
No such thermometer is accurate. I have changed two. The first one (with the most reviews) showed a different temperature every time the child had a fever. This one shows a little higher. That is, it can be 37.5 and show 38.2. When you don't have a fever, there is no problem, it shows the correct temperature. But when you do, there is an issue because you have to measure with another one to decide whether to give antipyretic. And I come back to say no, it's not worth spending money on it.
Unfortunately, very unreliable and therefore dangerous when the child has a fever of 38.5 and this one shows at best 36.9. It's a shame and I wonder how they are allowed to be on the market, especially at such high prices.
I am not satisfied with its value for money. I want to measure my child's temperature and it doesn't give me accurate readings. It shows random numbers like 1, 2, and so on. I press the button to turn it off, but it doesn't shut down, so I have to remove the batteries from the back. It's unreliable, and I wouldn't buy it again. It's not worth it.
It has never given me an accurate measurement. When my child had 37.8, it would tell me 38.5, and when my child had 39, it would give me 38-37.5. And when there was no fever, it would tell me 37.8. It doesn't measure correctly at all unless it happened to be defective. Although mercury thermometers have been withdrawn, I still use this one and another electronic one from Omron, which is 100% reliable. After trying many brands, I ended up with this one!
I am not satisfied. Every time it shows a different measurement even though 2 minutes have passed. Not reliable at all.
I have it for 6 years. At first, I struggled a bit until I learned it. Perfect in measurements. Response in 1 second. I also measure the wall temperature where I have the meter from the bodies. It takes time to learn how to handle it correctly, it takes time between measurements, time to adjust to room temperature, etc. For a parent who is overwhelmed when their child has a fever and needs quick and reliable measurements (to avoid giving antipyretics at 36.9), it is NOT RECOMMENDED.
When the little one was burning with fever and had around 38 degrees (with the Omron electronic thermometer), it showed 36.8. If you want to check your temperature, it will show that you have hypothermia from 35.2 to 36
Basically, it requires some adjustment time. If you learn it, it's relatively okay. But until that happens ... and you learn distance, position, degrees, etc., which you will take the measurement ... you will struggle.
However, the significant problem is different. If the room temperature is about >17-18oC ... then this works right away. But if the room temperature is about 15oC (cold, that is), the thermometer refuses to work ... and it does exactly what happens with low battery. At least in mine. Proven for 4 years now. If I "warm it up" in my hands for about 5 minutes, or indirectly on a heating element, then it works. I know it sounds illogical ... but it's tested!
I took a thermometer and a wrist blood pressure monitor for repair, and besides the fact that the back and forth transportation is a burden for me, they ask me for 7 euros to check each one and of course whatever comes out of it...
They punish you for buying cheap products and they are right...

I think it is one of the most reliable in its category. In the hospital where my father-in-law was hospitalized, they had exactly the same one. You need to read the instructions carefully because it has the ability to measure from different parts of the body, and if you have it adjusted elsewhere and measure from another place, it will obviously give you different results. Also, it needs at least half an hour between measurements and the thermometer should be in the room where the measurement is taken beforehand.
It has a deviation compared to a conventional thermometer of 0.5 to 1 degree.
It is only for indicative temperature (if you see something suspicious, you also use the conventional one) and for the convenience of the child's sleep so as not to wake them up.

Now, onto the matter at hand. I was looking for a digital thermometer because my child wouldn't sit still for 1 minute and I was worried (our pediatrician recommended the analog one as more reliable). Doing my research, I read the reviews of the products I ended up choosing. I chose this particular one for two reasons. The first reason is the price (why should I spend a lot on a product?). And the second reason is because it had the most positive reviews compared to other products that were more expensive. So, I inform you that I am completely satisfied with my purchase. Now, regarding the negative things I read, since I have used it, I have to say that some of them can be avoided and depend on our correct usage.
I don't know what to say first, the most failed purchase I have ever made.
1. It emits a very intense light on the face.
2. It makes loud beeping noises.
3. It constantly gives irrelevant measurements.
For me, it's not worth it, I have simply thrown it in the drawer, truly disappointed.
The thermometer is quite good. Of course, expect some deviations! If a fever is detected, we measure it with a mercury thermometer for more accurate measurement. Otherwise, it is very immediate and fast. It has saved us a lot of time in milk, where we want the temperature to be "approximately" right!
Unfortunately, the measurements have a significant difference from a mercury thermometer. Especially when the temperature is above 38 degrees. In a 3-year-old child, it showed 37.3 (several measurements) and with an armpit thermometer, the child had 39.6. I can't understand the good reviews. The only positive thing is that it accurately measures room temperature.
For now, it is quite reliable. Its measurements are accurate, even with small deviations. Compared to other thermometers I have seen, it is by far the best. I believe it is worth its price. If you are looking for a quality, reliable forehead thermometer with good build quality and, most importantly, a good price, this is the best one
Excellent thermometer. The truth is that with everything I had read, I didn't expect much. And yet it is very good. The only important requirement: Read the instructions carefully! You must follow a specific procedure and pay attention to the beeps, which indicate when the measurement has been done correctly. It falls within with great accuracy, I compared it with a digital armpit thermometer and indeed the deviation was ~0.1-0.2 at most. I was saved because my little one refuses to sit with the armpit thermometer. Also, very useful is the ability to take measurements from the armpit and forehead (you change its function).
Like all infrared thermometers, this one can have a deviation from the actual temperature. After all, it also depends on the distance you hold it and how you take the measurement (read the instructions), as well as how long a person is in a room with a stable temperature. I tried it on several people and it gave quite accurate measurements, at least to give you a first idea. It even detected in one person that they had a temperature, as suspected. It's good to use it in combination with a regular thermometer if you suspect a fever.
Also, the measurement of objects and liquids was quite good. That's mainly why I wanted it and it covers my needs perfectly. The only downside is that it makes some beeps when taking the measurement, which you can't turn off. So it would be difficult to use it on a sleeping baby.
I was not satisfied with either the classic electronic thermometer (in every measurement, it showed 0.3 higher than the previous one), but neither are the measurements of this thermometer completely accurate. However, it is not completely off, so you cannot consider it unreliable.
