Most 4th grade students have mastered the decoding mechanism in reading, but many still struggle to understand what they read.

This particular manual is designed to develop the reading comprehension of 4th grade students through appropriate strategies and comprehensible teaching techniques. Thus, it offers teachers an effective teaching tool both for enhancing their students' reading ability and for adequately producing written language at the next level. Additionally, through the variety of texts it utilizes, it introduces students to the magic of the world of books, enabling them to become capable and critical readers.

It includes five thematic units,
- Environment
- Ancient Greece
- Olympic Games
- Living Safely
- Life at School
which cater to the interests of the students and reinforce their prior knowledge. Each thematic unit includes four sub-units, which have been selected to align with the cross-thematic concepts (system, interaction, change, space, time, individual-group, similarity-difference, culture) that govern the Cross-thematic Unified Curriculum Framework.

We chose to include a variety of text genres so that students can come into contact with and implicitly or explicitly familiarize themselves with their structure. At the same time, the activities are text-centered and can be differentiated to meet the abilities of all students.

The charm of reading is linked to the enjoyment and the ability of students to strengthen their cognitive background... Teachers must be their guides and supporters in the labyrinthine journey of the endless pursuit of knowledge.
