Description

Celestron Inspire 80AZ Refractor Telescope

The ultimate telescope for beginner to intermediate astronomers!

The Inspire 80AZ has the longest focal length in the Inspire family for high magnification planetary views. It has a set of features unprecedented for entry-level telescopes: fully coated glass optics, stable altazimuth mount with unique asymmetric design, sturdy stainless steel tripod with integrated accessory tray, built-in smartphone holder, built-in red LED flashlight, large finder scope with projected reticle, optics that deliver erect images, and a focuser with a micrometer for easy return to a specific focus point.

Altazimuth Mount

An altazimuth mount is the simplest type of telescope mount. Its name is a combination of the words "altitude" and "azimuth", meaning "height" and "azimuth". This type of mount allows for movements up and down (in altitude) and left and right (in azimuth).

The Inspire is easier to set up than any other telescope in its category.

Simply open the tripod legs, turn the stabilizing wheel on the accessory tray, and place the tube onto the dovetail mount. You are now ready for observation!

The objective lens cover has an integrated smartphone holding system.

Place your smartphone on the elastic, high-friction surface of the outer side of the cover, so that the camera can see through the "window" that the cover has (after removing the "window" cap). Secure the smartphone in place with the adjustable straps that the cover has for this purpose. On the inner side of the cover, there is a protrusion that adjusts to the eyepiece (instead of an ocular), which is secured with the help of two screws. You are now ready to capture high-magnification images through the telescope.

The support has a built-in red LED light lens.

Turn on the flashlight if you want to illuminate the accessory disc with a soft red light. Alternatively, you can detach the lens from the mount to illuminate the pages of a book or whatever else you need.

The focuser's micrometer is a numbered scale that indicates the position of the focuser. It allows for quick return to a specific focusing point (number) for specific targets, such as a bird's nest, infinity, etc.
