Heroines who experienced the harshness of archaic society and others who raised their resistance and fought in the most adverse conditions; heroes-victims of social prejudices and others crushed by the millstones of History; narratives where the gap between the upper and lower world closes thanks to the desire for the union of living and dead lovers. All these elements compose the world of Dimitra Louka's book, a rough world, shaken by strong passions and instincts, and at the same time dominated by the strong bonds of community. The author preserves this world from oblivion, without nostalgia, but with love for the beauty and the transformative power of its language.
