The FG-Jet by HJC is a jet helmet, which, thanks to its open design at the bottom of the face, can be put on and taken off with ease. It is considered one of the lightest types of helmets, however, it leaves a large area of the face uncovered, therefore it is less safe compared to a full-face helmet. It is made of composite fibre, that is, from synthetic fibers that make it flexible and resistant to shock absorption. It fastens with a microlock, which allows you to fasten it easily and quickly. The helmet has European safety certification "ECE 22.05", which ensures that the helmet is tested for drop, impact, and object penetration.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
It is a decent helmet for its category. I bought it and use it for when it's very hot. Its ventilation is relatively sufficient, but obviously not as good as in much more expensive helmets.
The comparison helmet for me is the Shoei XR1100, so the comparison is definitely unfair. Specifically, it sends a thin stream of air to the top of the head, it doesn't circulate the air to cool your entire head.
It has good visibility and a user-friendly sun visor that goes up and down without any problems for now.
The real negative thing I find is that even though it is the right size, during prolonged use it somehow puts pressure on the head and gives me a headache. Maybe it's because of its weight or the fact that when you close the visor it puts more pressure (which is good for safety).
It is good to try it on and close the visor to see this difference in pressure, and to keep it on your head for as long as possible before purchasing it.
