The studies on the Asia Minor Catastrophe hosted in this edition attempt to shed light on both the causes of the Defeat and the reasons that make the formation of a common interpretive narrative almost impossible. This inability, as well as the guilty syndromes, created a "constructed oblivion" as a result of the need of the forces that led to the Asia Minor Catastrophe, for social amnesia.
