Description

As it denounces the "ideological representation" of the Holocaust, the not at all innocent chronological context of its genesis, and the political (and economic) motives hidden behind it, this book has caused great controversy in the US and Europe. Only after the Arab-Israeli war of 1967, when Israel emerged as a key strategic ally of the US, did the "Holocaust Industry" emerge and begin to gain the exceptional prominence it enjoys today. Producing successive and often conflicting interpretations of the tragedy, with greater or lesser respect for historical events but always in line with current needs, the "industry" on the one hand diverts or prohibits criticism of Israel, while on the other hand justifies the overall American policy and the moral complacency that characterizes it. The author concludes that the "Holocaust Industry," much more than the inconsistencies of some "revisionist" historians, is the one that threatens historical memory and offends the grief of the victims.
