Bought it a month ago. At first, I was quite disappointed as it didn't make the coffee correctly. Generally, I prefer freddo espresso and I like my coffee to be strong in flavor and complexity (not bitter) and with a rich crema. After several attempts with different coffees and settings, I ended up with a pretty nice result. It definitely cannot compete with professional coffee machines, but it makes a decent coffee. The coffee now comes out strong, with a nice crema and intense flavor. For those who are demanding/picky about their coffee and enjoy it as a hobby, I would not recommend buying an automatic machine. The construction seems quite good, but only time will tell. I do not have an opinion on the milk frother yet as I have not tried it.
Settings:
- I have set the grinder to 2
- Temperature to 3
- Water hardness to 2 (the water in my area is quite hard. However, from the official Delonghi website, where I bought the machine, I received a gift of a filter that goes into the water tank. The filter should be changed every 2 months. For those who do not want to use a filter, they can use bottled water or tap water, but it will require more frequent descaling. If you use tap water and the water hardness is high, it is better to set the water hardness on the coffee machine to 4-5)
- Aroma intensity to 5
- For freddo espresso, I use the "espresso" program twice
Regarding the coffee, I ended up at a coffee shop as none of the whole bean coffees I tried from the supermarket tasted good to me as a result. Of course, this is a matter of taste.
I give it 4 stars because of the price, as with this amount of money, you expect to have an excellent coffee result.
I will come back again after trying the milk frother
