The G.Skill Ripjaws is aimed at demanding computer users, such as gamers, professionals in video and image editing, designers, and those who require high performance from their laptop or compact PC.

DDR4

DDR4 is the fourth generation of RAM technology for computers. It replaces DDR3 and offers increased speeds and capacity.

It offers operating speeds from 2133MT/s to 4800MT/s, latency (CAS Latency) from CL 9 to CL 22, while its capacity has increased up to 32GB per memory unit.

For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger the size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for latency (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have chosen.

The above features should be compatible with the specifications of our motherboard.

Ripjaws provides speed at 2666MT/s, with CL19 and 16GB per memory unit.

Compatibility

DDR4 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. Indicatively, DDR4 is compatible with Intel Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake series processors and the latest Intel processors, as well as AMD Ryzen and Threadripper series processors.

However, for compatibility with your motherboard, you need to ensure that your motherboard supports DDR4 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and the type of motherboard you are using.

XMP & EXPO

XMP & EXPO is a technology that allows us to increase the frequency and performance of our computer's memory without the need for manual adjustments. (XMP/EXPO) is easily activated from the BIOS, is available on certain RAM memories, and is supported by certain motherboards.

The G.Skill Ripjaws has (XMP/EXPO) profiles with performances:

    Replace the original RAM on Acer Nitro 5 with Intel i5. Easy and fast installation without any issues. It works incredibly fast. When the laptop is turned on immediately after installation, it takes about 1 minute to start up. This is due to the synchronization needed to create a profile in the BIOS. On the second startup, it works normally and quickly. I highly recommend it. No problems with functionality

    It was used on an Acer Nitro 5 laptop. It was combined with the existing pre-installed RAM and was recognized immediately at 2666MHz dual channel. Three months later and there have been no issues, no bluescreens, and I have completely eliminated stuttering, lag, and micro freezes. I have the Intel version of the Nitro 5 and there were no problems with combining two different RAM sticks.
