The fear of excommunication, which is also the main cause of the creation of relevant beliefs in the Greek area, is used not only for the compliance of the judged with the ecclesiastical decision, but also as a means of educating the other members of the specific society. In a second stage, however, it is proven that it creates a multitude of problems, which quickly became associated with the state and the relationships of the soul and body after death, thus shaping the terrifying vampire traditions. These are complemented by particularly brutal actions or methods of dealing with them. Being in the intermediate space, in the known unnatural state, not having accepted this extreme torment, the dead person wants to express the violence of rebellion against death, even in the case that something intervenes, even accidentally, in the predetermined order. However, through a different, more contemporary reading of the phenomenon of vampires, it is observed that the popular thinking is influenced by this earthly regenerative worldview through the pre-death and memorial rituals, and ultimately brings together the members of the social group and instills faith in its values. In this effort to interpret the phenomenon, a multitude of characteristic descriptions of vampire beliefs and ways of dealing with them were recorded through various texts, especially Byzantine and post-Byzantine canons.
