I have it permanently connected to my laptop and use it as an automatic backup. Given that my system is relatively old but satisfactory (2nd generation i5, 9 years old), the speeds it provides, 12.08 MB/s for writing and 17.48 MB/s for reading, are very satisfactory (see attached screenshot). They are definitely more than enough for the work I need it for.

It is worth more than its money. I use it as a second hard drive in an Ultra Book so as not to burden the SSD. Very fast in reading, it comfortably plays 4K videos. Recommended.
