Description

The approach to Attic prose is a process that often causes confusion among students and hinders their efforts to successfully translate an ancient text into modern Greek. The methodical processing of a text and the techniques for approaching it are essential tools for anyone trying to understand an ancient Greek text. This goal is also served by the Methodology for approaching the original text, at the beginning of the book, where the steps for approaching an unknown text are presented in an understandable way.

Ancient Greek Thematography contains 105 topics of the Attic dialect in 23 sections. Each section deals with a syntactic and a grammatical phenomenon. Each syntactic phenomenon corresponds to four topics, the last of which is a complete Evaluation Criterion based on the model of the Panhellenic exams. In sections 11-23, in addition to these topics, a text for further practice has been added, selected based on the examined syntactic phenomenon.
