I have had this specific one for a year and I chose it instead of the 2020 version because at the same price, I could buy an iPad with double the capacity, while the differences in the CPU were negligible.
Anyone who has used an iPad knows what to expect. It is incredibly fast, has satisfactory battery life (10 hours of intensive use), and has apps that you can't find on Android.
The downside of all Apple devices is that they require iTunes for file synchronization, but this is expected and you get used to it.
I don't consider myself an Apple fanboy (for example, I would never buy a laptop or desktop from the company), but iPads simply cannot be compared to other tablets.

This one replaced an Air 2 that I had for about 3 years, solely because I wanted something with a larger screen and the use of the pen. The difference in speed is noticeable - although the previous one was not slow at all - and the 4 speakers provide a loud, crystal-clear sound.
I mainly use it for reading, audiobooks, and browsing, although I also have several games (Xcom, Xcom 2, Journey, Darkest Dungeon, Osmos, Planescape Torment, etc.), with the most impressive being the Xcom 2 collection, which is identical to the PC version (and even supports shared save files).
Its price is a bit high, but it's one of those times when you get what you pay for.

I bought this iPad about a month ago.
I use it every day for graphic design, work, organization, video editing, and media consumption.

The tablet itself is excellent and well worth the money!
It has completely replaced my laptop, and now I only work from this tablet.

The upgrade to 256GB instead of the basic 64GB model is good, especially if you are interested in using it for similar purposes.
Due to the volume and size of the files I work with, 256GB is necessary.

For academic purposes and reading, the basic model is very good, and it also accepts USB sticks (just keep in mind that it has a USB-C port, so you will need an adapter).

For media consumption, it is exceptional with amazing resolution and powerful speakers.
It supports 4K and is easy to connect to AirPlay to play videos on Apple TV.

If you are looking for a tablet to replace your laptop for school and university work, I am very satisfied, although keep in mind that you will need to spend an additional 200€ for the keyboard. The multitasking is quite good, allowing you to have two apps open simultaneously, and it is fast enough to avoid delays.

However, although it is good for the above tasks, I would recommend choosing a laptop, either from Apple or another brand.

It does the job exceptionally well, but I don't think it's worth the 1000+€ you would have to spend on this tablet.
If money is not an issue, I highly recommend it.

If you are looking for something more, like graphic design or drawing, or to engage in digital design alongside reading and media consumption, I couldn't recommend it more.
It is amazing for this type of work, with a very good price, although you will need to purchase the Apple Pencil gen2.
For 1000€, it is outstanding and well worth the cost. It surpasses any competition in my opinion.

Keep in mind that you will need to spend an additional 100€ for apps, but other than that, I highly recommend it!

I bought it specifically for heavy use and it has proven to be reliable. I use (Luma, Affinity Photo, ProCreate, Lightroom, Darkroom) and it works smoothly and effortlessly. I edit 4K videos easily and have successfully replaced Photoshop with Affinity mainly due to cost.

With the addition of the Apple Pencil, it becomes a powerful tool. I would have preferred the 12-inch model, but the cost was too high, so I opted for the 11-inch with 256GB.

Things are simple. If someone wants simpler things like internet usage, social media, etc., a 6th (my previous one) or 7th generation is enough, but for heavier use, this is the way to go. (Speaking only about Apple).

The image quality is amazing, and switching between apps is very fast. The refresh rate takes the usage to another level, and overall, I can't find any negatives except for the high cost, as it is a tremendous upgrade from the 6th generation I had.

* Here, I should note something obvious for most people, but I made a mistake. I bought the tablet knowing that it has a USB-C port, but I didn't think that the old pencil wouldn't be able to charge or connect to it, and I was a bit surprised when I realized it. So, keep in mind, if you consider the pencil as a necessary accessory like I do, include it in the purchase cost.

It flies! I got it for 256 gigabytes at 880 euros! It's expensive but worth the money if you think about how much you've spent on a mobile phone, from 500 to 1000.
I haven't used it for professional purposes yet, like my friend, but for games and when compressing videos, you realize that the processor is a rocket.
The Face ID annoys me a bit, but at least it's reliable (it doesn't unlock with your photo like others).
The battery lasts a long time with heavy use (video editing, gaming...), a comfortable 8 hours because I went two days without charging it.
When it's on sleep mode and you see notifications, etc., it lasts 7 to 8 days. This is standard because I forgot the charger and it took a while for them to send it to me and for me to receive it...
I don't regret the purchase at all and don't look at the 12.9 like I used to.
Even if you hold the 11 flat, you can still feel its weight, imagine the 12.
Also, at the distances you handle it, the 11 is great! It's neither small nor monstrous, and of course, it's easier to carry

• Για να περιορίσω το budget, επέλεξα το 11άρι με 1TB μνήμη, αντί μεγαλύτερης οθόνης και LTE.
• H οθόνη των 12.9 είναι πολύ εντυπωσιακή και αναβαθμίζει την εμπειρία προβολής, αλλά είναι βαρύτερο από το 11άρι και η χρήση του στα χέρια μπορεί να κουράσει.
• Από την άλλη, το 11άρι έχει πιο ωφέλιμη οθόνη για 16:9 videos (πχ youtube), είναι πιο φορητό και θα ικανοποιήσει ακόμα και του πιο απαιτητικούς χρήστες. Είναι επίσης χαρακτηριστικό ότι η χρήση του στα χερια δε θα κουράσει όπως το 12.9.

Χωρίς αμφιβολία, η Apple με το Ipad Pro 2018 δείχνει το δρόμο για τις συσκευές που θα συνδυάζουν την χρηστικότητα ενός κινητού τηλεφώνου, με τις επιδόσεις ενός επαγγελματικού laptop.
Αν εξαιρέσουμε την υψηλή του τιμή (1450€ το φθηνότερο διαθέσιμο), και κάποιους περιορισμούς του IpadOs, το νέο Ipad Pro 2018 είναι το απόλυτο εργαλείο παραγωγικότητας, on the go και όχι μόνο.

I have had it for a month now, my job is a designer, one of the main things we all need to mention for those who have this device is that its screen is one of the top screen technologies, why?... the screen refreshes at a rate of 120hz, twice the refresh rate of all tablet screens, this makes the screen without flickering in our eyes and the image is stable like a sheet of paper. Another thing I noticed is that even with the brightness at 60%, the white is pure white, unlike AMOLED screens where you have to reach 100% brightness to see white, this destroys the eyes, so much light intensity in long periods. With wonderful black and amazingly accurate colors thanks to the True Tone it has.
A big question mark goes to the photo shoots, it does not support or do miracles, especially in dark environments and indoor shots with incandescent lamps, the camera is not what you expect.
The 4K production on YouTube, which was updated by Apple two months ago in software version 14.2, now plays 4K UHD at 60 FPS and HDR... For screen protection, buy the BELKIN glass, it is the top screen protector, incomparable, I have made comments about it.
As for a top-notch protection in folio type, Spigen has done an excellent job. I highly recommend it.

After a year, all I have to say is that I am very satisfied with the iPad

Tablet that does it all and (let's say) is cost-effective.
Unbeatable screen, super lightweight, processor that I haven't seen struggling anywhere (and I've put it through some heavy professional tests), powerful and very good speakers (for a tablet). With the Pencil 2, I have now eliminated paper, as I do everything with the apps (especially the excellent Notes app on iOS).
I use it daily for various tasks and the only downside (until autumn, hopefully) is iOS, which is quite limited for this machine.

I was torn between this and the 12.9" version, but the (comparative) portability of this one won me over. It's big enough for frequent use and split view, very comfortable in full screen, but also "small" enough that you don't have to carry a "laptop" with you (in terms of size).

Something to be careful about, if you need one, is which USB-C audio jack you will get. USB-C audio jacks (as I researched, because I wanted charging at the same time) are generally a pain - not just for Apple. Some Xiaomi, some Samsung, and some others I tried didn't work with it. With a second mobile phone I have, they worked somewhat better - but not all of them. So whatever you're going to buy, make sure first that it will work with the device. Or go straight to the "mama," which of course doesn't have charging.

EDIT 28/3: clarifications above and to add that it is functional enough to replace a laptop, if your work is not very ... computer-oriented (geeky). If it includes emails/office suite and organization/notes in meetings/design and architecture/music, but also casual browsing ... the iPad (Pro) is a "gem" and you simply leave the laptop aside.
