The main issue, which mainly governs the writing of this book, is related to the management of the phenomenon of urban-folk music creation in a strictly theoretical but also functionally fruitful way. Thus, apart from its scientific-musicological texture, the book also has a purely practical dimension, as it could well function as a systematic theoretical summary or as a teaching manual for learning urban-folk music of the Interwar period.
Specifically, all the individual phenomena classified in the system of Folk Modes are examined in detail, and their basic structural characteristics are defined, which are also documented through references to corresponding repertoire cases using visual means. There is also discussion of issues of tropic behavior, melodic development, idiomatic phenomena, while the basic principles of each mode are briefly presented in terms of harmonic management. For cases of Folk Modes that have a parallel in the Ottoman makam or are frequently managed within the framework of 78 rpm discography according to ala turca aesthetic standards, special mention is made through analysis of the individual intervallic, stylistic, and technical peculiarities accompanying these cases.

The book includes 70 or more original transcriptions in staff notation of Interwar urban songs with parallel detailed morphological-tropic analysis. This specific repertoire corpus, in combination with its corresponding theoretical management, could undoubtedly serve as a stimulus and reference point, especially in the field of the teaching process concerning the study and performance of urban-folk music of the Interwar period.
