Description

"I worry about how the new generation of effective psychotherapists will be trained. I worry about psychotherapy and how it can be distorted by economic pressures and impoverished by radically shortened training programs. Nevertheless, I trust that in the future, a cohort of psychotherapists from various scientific disciplines will continue to pursue intensive postgraduate education and, even under the pressure of reality, will find patients who desire broad development and change, willing to commit to psychotherapy indefinitely. For these therapists and these patients, I write "The Gift of Therapy".
" The recommendations in this book come from notes of forty-five years of clinical practice. It is an idiosyncratic mix of ideas and techniques that I have found useful in my work. These are so personal, so subjective, and sometimes so original ideas that the reader is unlikely to encounter them anywhere else. However, I hope that every reader will find their own creative way to adapt and apply what I have learned to their specific work conditions." (Irvin D. Yalom)

Yalom, an exceptional person and professional, accompanies you in the magical journey of psychotherapy with his incredibly accessible and unique way. Even if it is the first time you come into contact with the subject of psychology, you will understand to a satisfactory extent the steps he follows and the techniques used by a psychotherapist to primarily relieve his patient.
