From ancient times, dreams have been considered as events of great importance in human life.

Thousands of scientists have dealt with dream interpretation. Specifically, in ancient Greece, there were specialized interpreters known as diviners or dream interpreters.

The oldest interpreters, such as Artemidorus (2nd century AD), were so famous that they created a tradition. Following faithfully in the footsteps of this tradition, the Greek people created the folk interpretation of dreams, which in some places presents variations. The author gathered information from all over Greece and gives us a vivid picture of our folk "beliefs".
