This particular train, my five-year-old son saw it at a large playground in early November and has been asking me for it frequently since then. At first, I was hesitant because the price of 160 euros seemed excessive for a toy, but since he loves Lego and spends all day building, breaking, and rebuilding them, I decided to get it for him, thinking that it would keep him occupied for many days to build it and that the many pieces would challenge him more than the simple Lego sets he had built so far. However, I set the condition that he wouldn't receive any other gifts until New Year's.

On New Year's, he found the gift under the tree and was thrilled. Perhaps he was overly thrilled because he had already built it by the afternoon, which made me realize the first drawback of the toy, which is the repetitiveness of the construction, as the set includes one engine and two similar wagons that are built in a similar way, making it easier for the child to build them.

The second negative point is that the tracks included in the box are few. When you set them up, there is a lack of variety in the shape, but because the train reaches high speeds, it becomes boring to go around in circles after a while.

The third negative point is that it requires 10 AAA batteries to operate, 6 for the engine and 4 for the remote control, and if you move the train at maximum speed, the batteries drain relatively quickly.

I left the positive points for last because my overall impression is really positive. The quality of the materials, the connection of the pieces is excellent, perhaps even a little better than the cheaper Lego City sets priced at 20-40€. However, the major advantage is the acceleration, which has 10 levels, so the train can go from very slow to very fast, and this makes it impressive as the train immediately responds to the remote control. The deceleration is also the same, so the child can play with adjusting the speed (e.g. mine imagines being on a subway, starting from a station at a low speed, increasing in the middle of the journey, and slowing down to stop before reaching the next station).

Additionally, there is the option to control it from a mobile phone or tablet by downloading the corresponding application, but I haven't tried it yet.

After a week of purchase, I bought additional tracks (Lego 60205), so now the route is more interesting and it gives the child the opportunity to build slightly different shapes from the classic layout. Now, I am considering buying the tracks (Lego 60238) that have two switches for branching lines. I have also seen in foreign stores that there is a wide variety of tracks, switches, crossings, and bridges from third-party manufacturers that are compatible with this specific train.

Looking back at the prices, I noticed that there are occasional combo packages of the train with the Lego 60205 tracks on offer, so that would be the best time to buy it.
