Thermalright ARO-M14G CPU Cooling Fan for AM4 Socket GrayCode: 15161708

The cooler from Thermalright is active, which means it uses a fan to reduce the processor's temperature. With just 21dB of noise, this cooler makes minimal noise and won't distract you. It has a 240W TDP. To properly operate the cooler, its wattage performance should be at least equal to the processor's Thermal Design Power (TDP). This will also help with the noise generated by the cooler's fan, as it won't reach its limits. A cooler with a lower TDP than the processor's may be less effective, noisy, and could potentially reduce the lifespan and performance of your processor.

  • Minimum Noise Level: 21dB
  • Height: 162mm
  • Socket: AM4
  • RPM (Full Load): 1300rpm

After about two years of use, I decided to write my opinion. Like previous reviewers, I also give it 5 stars for the cooler. It is one of the best value-for-money coolers. It is not huge but not small either. I would say it is medium to large in size. The fan is exceptional, balancing cooling performance and noise. It can also accommodate a second fan at the back, and the necessary mounting materials are provided by the manufacturer. It is only suitable for AM4. It has a very large base that covers the processor and is even glossy like a mirror. I used it on a 3700x with a room temperature of 20C, and it was around 32-33C at idle, if I remember correctly, and of course, the fan was not audible. The maximum temperature during benchmarking with a room temperature of 20C was around 60-65C, as far as I can recall. For 60-70 euros, I consider it one of the best coolers that someone can buy. It is definitely recommended!

Cheap, quiet with a screwdriver and extra support materials for a second fan, comes with pre-applied thermal paste and an extra syringe of 1gr for the next renewal! Attention, it is only for Ryzen and with a base larger than the size of the processor for full contact...!

I bought it to replace the Wraith Prism on my Ryzen 2700X due to noise.
It is completely silent. Idle at 30 degrees, with light usage 36-38, and during video rendering 53.
Under full load with Prime95 small fft, it stays steady at 70 degrees.
