First of all, for those who are not familiar, the Unlock series and the one called Exit are a combination of puzzles and riddles that aim to simulate Escape rooms. One important difference between them is that in the Exit series, you are almost forced to destroy the contents of the game, while here you don't. Due to the pandemic and because I could no longer go to my beloved Escape rooms, I turned to these games.

Firstly, let me clarify that despite the number of players that the box may suggest, the game is best played with 2 players, or even 1. The number of available elements and things you can do is too small for more people to engage with.

The way they work is quite simple. First, you download a free app which does not require continuous internet connection once downloaded. The role of the app is mainly to provide you with a timer, usually 1 hour, and to use it for specific elements. The game starts with a scenario (the box contains 3 +1 introductory pieces of 10 minutes each) and a first card that contains multiple elements. Generally, each scenario contains 60 cards, all numbered on the back with seemingly random numbers from 1 to 99 and letters from the English alphabet from A to Z. Obviously, all of these remain closed until you unlock them in the game. So this first card may contain the numbers 20, 44, 35, 88, A, and C. You search, find, and open these cards. The second part is that some of these cards will have a red frame on the front side, some blue, some gray, and some green. The only allowed combination of cards is red with blue, not blue-blue or red-red, etc. Besides the frame, there is text that helps you understand what needs to be combined, as well as an image. For example, if the card with number 14 has a cup and a red frame, and card 45 has a blue frame, a faucet, and text that says "Who wouldn't want cool water on such a hot day," the way to combine them is through additions. So you search to find if card number 59 is in the closed stack.

This is the logic of the game along with some hidden elements that you need to look very carefully and closely at the cards to spot. As well as some other mini-games that I don't want to spoil.

Overall, this game is a very good suggestion for 2 people in general, couples, or people who are not particularly involved in board games or even an activity with a child. Especially for 10+, I think it is an excellent choice.

The only negatives I have to mention are 1) once you play these 3 scenarios, the game cannot be played again by you. Or to put it better, it doesn't have anything else to offer you. Obviously, you can give it to your friends and introduce them to it if you found it interesting. 2) Unfortunately, this version has two errors, one is found at the beginning of the first scenario and the other at the end of the third. Since the game uses exactly the same elements as the foreign version, I can be sure that the first one is purely due to a bad translation-transfer of the element, and the other is simply a mistake. The application, besides the timer, provides access to mini games, certain penalties that may arise, as well as assistance. Whether small to understand the logic or the final solution, without however having a detailed presentation of the method. This is available on the company's website, which has everything available. 3) There is an inconsistency with elements that are not necessarily useful in the final outcome and elements that are used more than once

Personally, we have the entire series of Unlock! It is definitely worth it and you can spend a pleasant hour in each adventure.
