This is what games should be. Not boring reality simulators, but interesting and entertaining games. Mario Tennis is basically boring and quite simple for fans of athletic video games. But Mario Tennis Aces finally took a mediocre game and added abilities, interesting mechanics, and entertaining multiplayer. The campaign is a huge tutorial, but the game is clearly meant for matches with friends and online. So it's a very nice and interesting game.
*Lag is not an issue with Mario Tennis, the same terrible lag exists in Smash Bros and other Nintendo titles. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but it's not a problem with the game, I liked the mechanics of the game as I wrote above, but I agree that lag is an issue.
First and foremost! There is no worse online experience, the 3 connection bars become 1 within two minutes and the lag is unbearable. Unacceptable, especially since the same problems existed in the game's demo, which Nintendo ignored. Now let's move on to the rest...
The single player is there to justify the game's price, as its total duration does not exceed 4 hours and it doesn't offer anything special apart from some mini-games. Additionally, the excessive amount of "magical abilities" in the core gameplay becomes nauseating. No matter how casual you are, the fact that you can stop time in the game and teleport from one corner to another is annoying and ridiculous at the same time. These mechanics mostly forgive bad players rather than rewarding good ones. Now you might say that you expect hardcore elements from Nintendo? That's correct as well...
For this amount of money, the game is a joke, although it will still sell because of the "MARIO" name, as there is a specific audience in the Nintendo community. Anyway, I suggest waiting for a price reduction
