This small book is written in the form of questions and answers. The goal is for it to be accessible to anyone who is concerned about the famous Macedonian issue. What it aims to offer is a concise and critical tour of the most widespread narratives which, in our opinion, compose the major national narratives, also providing a response to them. The book is addressed to the increasing number of citizens who want to confront the, until very recently, sad monotony of the discourse about the Macedonian issue in public discussion. But not only that. It is also interested in engaging with those who are willing to confront their own myths. The authors wanted to write in the same way we discuss: in a simple manner and not strictly scientific - let alone pseudo-scientific. This book is not intended for the few or the specialists.

Nations that bravely confess, primarily to themselves, their bitter truths and the secrets hidden in the closet, only come out ahead. The same applies to people's lives. Unfortunately, Greek society has not taken bold steps of self-criticism and chooses to cover up various traumatic issues of the past, especially those it calls "national issues," to avoid a bold confrontation with itself. Let us therefore confront our insecurities and fears, so that we can ultimately see what and how much they are worth. The pages of this book aim to contribute to this therapeutic function.
