This small book is written in the form of questions and answers. Its goal is to be readable by everyone who is concerned about the famous Macedonian issue. What it aims to offer is a concise and critical overview of the most prevalent narratives, which, in our opinion, constitute the major national narratives, while also providing a response to them. The book is addressed to the increasing number of citizens who want to confront the, until recently, sad monotony of the discourse on the Macedonian issue in public debate. But not only that. It also seeks to engage with those who are willing to confront their own myths. The authors wanted to write as we discuss: in a simple manner, not strictly scientific - let alone pseudo-scientific. The present book is not intended for the few or the specialists.

Nations that bravely acknowledge the bitter truths and the hidden secrets in their closet only benefit. The same applies to people's lives. Unfortunately, Greek society has not taken bold steps of self-criticism and chooses to cover up various traumatic issues of the past, especially those it calls "national issues," in order to avoid a daring confrontation with itself. Let us confront our insecurities and fears, so that we can finally see what they are worth and how much. The pages of this book aim to contribute to this therapeutic function.
