Fair product. While I had a simple 50mbps line, I had almost no loss, but when upgraded to 100mbps (fiber optic) there are losses (around 50% with wifi) and (20% to 30% with ethernet cable). Maybe for 'faster' speeds there are better solutions...
(29/2/24) First day of operation and it gives me 1/10 of the internet speed, while the previous one I had gave me 7/10 of the speed.. I will come back for an update
Basically plug and play, connected immediately with my old set from the same company. The wifi gives about half the speed of the line for me. Good purchase.
Good value for money, good for simple use. For professionals or gamers, it's better to go for something better.
If it offered more customization options, I would give it a higher rating. For someone who wants to get into it a bit, it's very good.
I have been using it for about 3 years.
Excellent loss of signal, zero! on LAN in all power outlets, even at a distance of approximately 30 meters from the router's outlet.
It operates at 2.4 GHz. Unfortunately, not at 5 GHz.
In the two years or so, it had a problem and was making a buzzing sound.
I opened it and found a burnt capacitor inside. It was cheap, about 1 euro, and I replaced it with a soldering iron, and now it works perfectly again.
After almost a year of operation, it started making a noise (whistling) and left us without times. I am looking to find the purchase receipt - warranty in case they replace it. I DID NOT HAVE IT IN A POWER STRIP but ONLY ON ITS OWN...it's a shame because it had a very good signal...
Very good product and user-friendly. I haven't encountered any problems so far. TP-link recommends not to plug it into a power strip but directly into the socket. However, it works perfectly for me on a power strip of type TAF.
Easy installation, immediate synchronization with existing older Tp-link devices, good wi-fi signal (4/4) in the room where it is placed and in the adjacent room where there is a wall in between (3/4). Overall, very good performance.
It was installed in a basement on a different floor from the powerline adapter (I had already purchased the TP-LINK TL-WPA4226KIT v4 - https://www.skroutz.gr/s/15416104/TP-LINK-TL-WPA4226KIT-v4.html). It connected properly and works flawlessly. It transmits 75% of the router's bandwidth.
Very good extender. Instant connection and "communication" with the other 2 powerlines of Tp-link that I have connected, without any loss in wi-fi. The wi-fi measurement in the rooms where the extender was installed is consistently above 80Mbps.
The problem that gets stuck and does not respond after a day exists in subsequent firmware updates. With the first initial release, it is solid without disconnections. After 5 months, it started making a noise like a pressure cooker whistle, and when the network was struggling, it would restart until it completely broke and as soon as you plugged it in, after 7 seconds it would restart without having time to boot. I searched the internet for others with the same problem and the solution is to change a capacitor. I changed it and it became new again.
When it works, it works well...
I bought it and paid for it as reliable but I was disappointed. There is some signal loss, but not too much logically, and the worst part is that it freezes about once every 35 hours and needs to be unplugged. I tried using the interface to schedule the wifi to turn off for an hour every night, but it didn't make a difference. It doesn't have a restart function on its own, and the solution is to waste a timer plug to turn it off once a day, without being sure if it will lose more signal. I wouldn't buy it again.
Purchase from a well-known store outside of Scroutz the kit with the 3 adapters. During the week, one of them burned out and essentially it's like I bought the kit with only 2 adapters since the company doesn't repair it or make any changes. Few and very rare disconnections, connection to a power strip without losing much speed. The money it costs is not worth it in any case... Better to get a NoName Chinese one... Even if it burns out in a month...
I had the exact same thing, after five years it started warning me that it will break. Since it worked for so many years, I thought it was worth getting the same model, unfortunately the new one is garbage, it disconnects every 5 to 10 minutes, the indicator lights it has to check the function do not show any errors. And since it has already turned your mind upside down, it reconnects on its own again.
Amazing result easy connection.
I wonder how I hadn't seen it for so long!
UPDATE 8/10/23
About a year after the purchase, the interruptions and malfunctions started.
At first sporadically, then more frequently, and in the end constantly.
I assumed it was broken, so I bought a new one.
The first five to six months were fine. Then the same thing happened again.
The worst part is that the indicators showed full functionality, but there was no connection, both on Cosmote and on the TV's WIFI. Practically, I didn't know what to assume.
I took a look online, where the problem is often mentioned and seems unsolvable even by people who 'know'.
Some resorted to previous software.
I can't figure it out.
UPDATE 11/2/24 Rarely works.
I have been satisfied and since I have other ones on different floors there is a loss of signal and speed but justified.
I have had it for 15 days now and it works perfectly. I had a problem with the WiFi signal in the bedrooms, especially with the TV that had a Chrome cast and couldn't play.
It has only disconnected once, I unplugged it, plugged it back in, and it worked immediately. Very easy connection. It also worked with a power strip (T) without any issues!
Positives: Small loss of speed, ease of connection
Negatives: Difficulty connecting to slightly remote bridges from the router and disconnections approximately once every 10 days.
I had better results when I used the SSID that was already set by the device (shared internet connection with two SSIDs) rather than when I tried to extend the wireless network with the existing SSID.
The connection is made very simply. At first, I had some disconnections, but now I haven't seen anything like that happening. I have placed it far away from the router and I have permanently connected the printer (wirelessly) and a PC (wired) to it (apart from other devices). I had an issue with the printer because it was far away from the router, but now the prints go from any network device "like lightning". The only downside is that it doesn't have a very good range and speed for streaming video from a mobile, for example, being in the next room.
Within 1.5 years of purchase, a sound started to be heard, like a whistle... until it broke and no longer transmitted its signal... And the bad thing is that I don't even have the warranty receipt to replace it!
Excellent when it works! Unfortunately, the WiFi connection is lost or gets stuck (I don't know about the wired ethernet) almost every 2 days and it needs to be unplugged and plugged back in to work again. I tried updating the firmware through the android app to see if it would fix the problem, but it cannot update. Generally, if you don't mind restarting frequently, then it is very useful.
The best in this category!!
I combined it with another Powerline I had from the same company and it works perfectly!!
It transfers the internet signal over a long distance with almost zero loss!!
I highly recommend it!!
For some reason, I don't have the same speed that I have on the router... and for normal losses, they seem excessive to me. However, even so, you have an Ethernet + Wi-Fi connection in the room you want.
Excellent WiFi Extender. I preferred the device without the need for a power outlet, as when it is connected to a device on top, it can negatively affect the speed.
Fast Internet in every corner of the house without interruptions and delays. Simply because it is powerline, it has some slight speed loss.
Easy to install, user-friendly in its settings but not so stable!
Also, it doesn't pair with certain outlets in the house where other powerlines from the same manufacturer work.
Very good and useful product, it really solves your hands. Now I have network in all areas of the house, something that was almost impossible before due to the building's configuration. There are no speed losses, very easy installation and it also gives you 2 Ethernet ports. If it had a shuco socket, it would be perfect. There is no problem if you put it on a power strip unless it is a safety one. 3 years warranty
I would like it a little cheaper if you consider that with about 35 euros you get a pair of Powerline (wired)
One of the most reliable solutions for extending your WiFi network through powerline. Easy to use and configure. The best part is that it also provides Ethernet ports. Highly recommended.
Excellent product, finally I have uninterrupted network in a "blind" spot of 3 rooms. Simultaneously 2 laptops, 2 mobiles with browsing and streaming (on one laptop) no problem so far!
