Tichu is a cooperative game in which each team tries to be the first to get rid of all their cards. This requires good judgment and some intuition. If both players of a team manage to get rid of their cards before even one player of the other team, the tricks are not counted, but the successful team automatically scores 200 points. In each round, a team must decide whether to focus on collecting point-tricks or if they feel strong enough to go for a double victory with the significantly higher "points lump sum". The game usually progresses until one team reaches 1000 points.
