At the beginning of the 21st century, everything indicates that the Greek economy, Greek society, the entire socio-economic formation in Greece, in all its aspects, are at a crossroads. Many obvious things of the past are collapsing. Many certainties of progress are abolished.
The dynamics of globalization continue to transform, evolutionarily - and most of the time underground and silently - the whole socio-economic formation in today's Greece, radically transforming the very structural engine of its development: the businesses that operate and develop in Greece. The businesses that constantly seek the effective composition of their strategic, technological, and managerial potential as a necessary condition for their competitive survival in globalization.
However, the majority of our fellow citizens continue to ignore the core of the issue. It continues to be uncritically polarized into two static oversimplifications: globalization equals paradise or globalization equals hell. The most critical stake is distorted. Thus, globalization, without being any kind of paradise for anyone, can, under certain conditions, be a powerful force of overturning many long-standing inflexibilities and pathologies within our society: to function in practice as a very strong positive force towards broader socio-economic progress in our country.
