Language, art, in their various expressions, have been cultivated within the Church. But the characteristic of Orthodox culture is not material. It is the spirit that animates. What is expressed in the simplicity of speech and is reflected not in the volume and height of monuments, but in the humble, the unadorned, the delicate. Orthodoxy, with its culture, does not consider man as an individual alienated from others. It wants him as a person integrated into the community and society of God and his fellow human beings vertically and horizontally, as reflected in the temple and the "contraction" of the divine mysteries. With all these elements that the Orthodox Church possesses, it is the only hope for the modern world, which is plagued by wars, nationalism, and diseases. In conflict, it presents convergence; in enmity, reconciliation; in fanaticism, understanding; in the anxiety for life, the impartial interest without discrimination.
