"Anastasia!"
The girl heard her mother's voice from the kitchen and ran inside. "Where are you, you naughty girl?"
The little girl sighed. "I'm coming, mother," she muttered obediently, not resisting her mother's strict words, as she was used to them and they didn't bother her. She placed the towel on the heavy wooden table, where her mother skillfully and deftly kneaded the heavy dough ball.
Anastasia. That's what they called the oldest of the three beautiful daughters of Papa-Giannis, the Orthodox priest of the island. In a few months, she would turn sixteen, beautiful like a bright sun...
Her image was engraved in the fearless Theophilos' heart, bleeding with love and desire...
And now, against the morning breeze, he imagined her... He brought her transparent image in front of his eyes, and the other sailors on deck looked at him and secretly smiled among themselves, because they knew why he sighed and sighed again endlessly...

This is how the true, captivating, and dramatic story of Anastasia begins, whom a mad wind of fate will snatch from her island and throw her as a concubine at the feet of Sultan Ahmed the First.
She will dominate the Harem less with her beauty and more with her character. She will become a great sultana, the first kadin, and a haseki, loved and hated...
She will reign in Istanbul for almost forty years, favoring the unfortunate, the oppressed, and the tormented Rumelian. She will secretly support Patriarch Cyril Lukaris,
a mortal enemy of the Jesuits who roam the Greek land and convert the Orthodox flock to Catholicism. She will fight to stop the "fratricidal law" and raise her rebellion against the impregnable wall of the Ulemas. She will win personal battles. She will suffer sweeping defeats. She will remain in the history of the Ottoman Empire as the greatest sultana of all time.
She was the one who stopped the wretched child trafficking...

With over 80 titles on bibliography, the author has done a tremendous job and has worked very hard. I have the feeling that there is no fiction, that everything she writes is what actually happened. I read it and it was captivating. I finished it and made a mental note to read it again in the future, taking notes and simultaneously reading from Wikipedia because it is impossible to absorb so much information and history with just one reading. The book was worth it. I will read another historical novel by the author. She works very hard and with great respect when she holds history in her hands. Thank you very much for this rare work that you have given us.
