Janetakis was a peculiar case. From the beginning to the end of his political career, he remained integrated but also to a significant extent autonomous within the political sphere. Although he assumed the position of prime minister and deputy prime minister, leaving a clear imprint on the development of Greek politics on many levels, he was not the leader of a party, small or large, defined in the public consciousness as one of the leaders who decisively determine the country's course. Despite being a member of a family with a remarkable tradition and intense involvement in Greek history, he was a low-key and particularly modest person, without seeking communicative prominence, which would make him a "symbol" and therefore an attractive object of study.

In addition, Janetakis was also a man of spirit and culture, who dealt with difficult issues even before entering politics, driven by a fundamental need for consistency between intellectual exploration and action, always seeking the projection of Greece's cultural face with consciousness, modesty, and calmness, in a natural, spontaneous, and therefore convincing way. In a way, he carefully and systematically avoids the excesses that devalue the intellectual tradition of the place. In many respects, therefore, he was a peculiar case and as such is studied in this work at hand. We are aware that we are evaluating the exception, not the rule, but at the same time, we are convinced that this creativity, self-awareness, does not only concern Janis Janetakis because, through him, he represents many people of this country.
