We are experiencing absurdity, with productive forces more developed than ever and the situation of the overwhelming majority of people worsening. And this applies not only to Greece but to the entire capitalist world.

One of the most glaring aspects of this absurdity is that instead of the time gained through automation resulting in people being freed from the burden of compulsory work, it takes the form of unemployment, while at the same time the exploitation of those who continue to work intensifies.

This is because the dominant class of capitalists, faced with the new reality, not only does not voluntarily abolish itself, as some claim (for example, Negri), but in order to maintain its private ownership of modern means of production and its power, it further sharpens the contradictions of the system, with the workers being the main victims.

All this, while today, with the progress of science and technology, it is possible, on the condition of overthrowing capitalism, for free time to become dominant and for it, rather than the degree of exploitation of one person by another, to be the measure of wealth.

In this direction, it is argued that within the framework of a revolutionary war of positions, the drastic reduction of working time - without reducing wages and intensifying work - and not its preservation, must be an immediate militant demand for the popular movement and its organizations, a stronghold for immediate occupation.
