Megan Forbes is trained at the Academy to hate, like all Remors, humans and, if necessary, to sacrifice herself in the next war against them, in order for the Leroil to gain power.

The fate of the Remors is predetermined: They must swear loyalty to the superior race and fight for them, in exchange for the Leroil perpetuating their species.

Megan rebels. Defying one of the most important laws of the Leroil, she falls in love with a Remor at the risk of ending up in prison, while planning to leave the Academy and find a place to live freely with him and her loved ones.

And there is only one way to achieve it: to become the guardian of her greatest enemy. And she is determined to do it, even if she has to kill her own kind.

But she doesn't know that those she trusts hold great secrets, nor that some will entangle her in their games, to fulfill the plans of the Gods.
