Today, everyone admits that the modern world needs a deep reform. A radical change. A revolution that will transform our way of life and our ways of thinking.

I believe that the time has come for a new political philosophy, which will combine the tradition of liberalism and the tradition of socialism, which were the two great dialogues of the 19th and 20th centuries. Because we cannot renounce either of these schools of thought. Both were present in the birth of the modern era. One school embodies the pursuit of freedom. The other embodies the pursuit of equality. The bridge that unites them is brotherhood. Has the time come for this synthesis? Or is such thinking just a utopia?

With our eyes on the future, the politics of the "middle ground" proposed in this book attempts to go beyond the linear axis of Right-Left. Thus, a third qualitative dimension is created, which does not constitute a quantitative compromise between the two extremes, but autonomously adopts politically broader demands, around which it seeks to rally large social groups. Such issues concern policies related to ecological problems and environmental protection (human obligations towards nature), policies related to major social issues (poverty, unemployment, marginalization, drugs, abortions, etc.), while embracing choices that aim to combat corruption and moralize politics.
