Amazing tool. It does what it was made for. It is unfortunate, in my opinion, that some people mention the weight, as when you want to use a tool for the tasks it is intended for, it is practically impossible to find a lightweight tool, because simply it has not been manufactured yet. Makita is one of the most reliable companies in all of its products, so I consider that this specific wheel at this price is the best choice, regardless of its use (amateur or professional).

Awesome tool... Heavy but very compact and seems very sturdy construction. Overall, I have great experience with Makita and I trust it. I saw it at a friend's before I bought it, who is a professional and swears by it.

First time I buy Makita and I am satisfied! For its price, the tool is perfect! It has no vibrations, it doesn't get hot, it is very stable in cutting, it has a smooth start, something very important when cutting in difficult areas. The handle (in front of the disc) is a bit short and small in diameter, which I am thinking of changing. Overall, it is a very good and high-quality tool! I recommend it!

I bought a dexter 230mm and I was cutting cement and floors into dust. I cleaned it well but within a year the axle broke. The Makita is more powerful with the same characteristics but it lacks reliability for professionals. The cheaper ones are good for amateurs but this one is a beast to enjoy, the motor turns smoothly without vibrations, a characteristic of Makita cutters, smooth. Just heavy-duty, but I believe it is better in quality than Bosch, Dewalt which I have worked with, thanks, really. However, because it is heavy, in case of a kickback, it may not hit you as hard in the face.

Good build quality and a lot of power. Quite heavy. On the websites of most stores, it is incorrectly stated that its weight is 4.7kg, but its actual weight (also mentioned in the manual) is 5.8kg!
It has a smooth start, although the technical specifications are not mentioned in the stores that sell it.
Unfortunately, the guard cannot be removed without a tool, but it has the classic screw for a screwdriver.
Also, it would be good if it had a longer cord, because the one it has is only about 2.5m...
Overall, though, considering its price (I bought it for €107.00), I believe it is perhaps the most cost-effective choice.
