Once again, a very good job from Tamron.
I got it for professional use.
    In its positives:
    Very fast AF.
    Incredible sharpness even at f/2.8.
    Quite silent.
Very strong image stability +/- 5 stops.
Very good quality of crystals that almost completely absorb sun glares, as well as easily repel dust and oily substances.
    In its negatives:
Its weight is definitely the first thing one will find as an obstacle. We're talking about 970g.
The buttons sometimes change position if you hang the camera body on yourself and move forward.

Apart from that, I have been incredibly satisfied and would recommend it to those who want a top-notch lens but don't have the budget for the 2k+ RF lenses

The lens was purchased for the Canon 6d mkii. You immediately realize that it is a lens of a new generation. Very sharp from f/2.8. The weight is manageable as it is on the lighter side of lenses of this type, and it even has IS. With the moderate use I have given it, I would say it is value for money.

Bought this amazing lens piece in 2018, perfect with my Nikon D700 and D810, image stabilization, overall image quality.. Great value for the money..
As a long-time Canon and Nikon user, I can simply give five stars for this lens. Wonderful lens from Tamron!

As a former owner of the Nikon 5200 and knowing the excellent Tamron 17-50 lens for crop bodies that I had in my possession, I intended to replace the 24-120 f4 that came with the Nikon D750 kit I now have, with the equivalent Tamron lens, the 24-70 f/2.8. They also suggested the Sigma 24-105, which costs 800€, but if you're going to make a change, I believe it's worth it to go with a brighter lens. As a happy owner of the Tamron 24-70, I can say that the lens is worth every euro. It has excellent sharpness, beautiful colors and sharpness, and a very nice bokeh in portraits taken at f/2.8!! I also consider Nikon to be very expensive for similar lenses, something I can't justify.

Two months owner of the lens, I bought it for 1150 Euros, I have no issues, perfect colors, sharpness, lens focus and build quality, it is a bit heavy. I use it on a Canon 6D Mark II, I chose it over the Canon 24-70 2.8L and it has nothing to envy. The stabilizer is a big positive!

Really very good lens in all the above described. Sharp colors but also distortions. I give it 4 stars and almost 3 because the buttons for manual focus and VC change position without you realizing it! So if you are in a moment that you must not miss like a wedding for example and it switches to MF and your photos are out of focus, you messed up.

I had the old g1. The difference is obvious! Great job guys at tamron with the g2 series! The difference is also evident in the construction, it has premium quality now, and the design is very good, no more cheap gold, well done! There is a huge difference in image quality compared to the old one. Much sharper and better bokeh! I believe the gap between Prime and zoom has also been reduced with this lens! The only thing that bothers me a bit is that the zoom is a bit loose. However, I suspect that it has become smoother in video. It's a bit heavier but it's logical. Fast autofocus, I don't think I ever had an issue with it actually. And the g1 was fast too. Nice! Between this and the sigma art, this one! I love art but here tamron did a slightly better job.

I should add that the Hood attaches with a "button"! Very good upgrade, the old one kept falling off. Smart.

Honest lens, with slight distortion at the edges that can be easily corrected in post.
