Description
"Julia, it's me. Call me, it's urgent. Please, Julia, it's important."
A few days before her death, Nel Abbott called her sister. Jules didn't pick up, ignoring her plea for help.
Now Nel is dead. They say she jumped. And Jules is forced to return to the place she hoped she had left behind for good, to take care of the teenage daughter her sister left behind.
But Jules is afraid. Very afraid. Of her well-buried memories, the old mill, the knowledge that Nel couldn't have jumped.
And above all, she fears the water and that place they call the Drowning Pool...
With the same riveting writing and deep understanding of human instincts that captivated millions of readers worldwide in her explosive debut "The Girl on the Train," Paula Hawkins delivers another delightful novel that draws from the stories we tell about our past and their power to destroy the life we live in the present.

Reviews
a very bad book. The author got confused and so did I. In every chapter, new names and new locations. By the middle of the book, I had lost track of who has died, who was her daughter, who was the mother, who was the detective, who was the policeman, who was the police assistant, who was the neighbor, and who was her husband. Lost in names and stories, showing that she has no more imagination and trying to write more pages just fills them with meaningless white glue. Don't buy it, don't read it. If someone reads it and understands, good for them, it will be like solving a maze in the author's head

Did you find this review helpful? One of the best detective novels I have ever read. In every chapter, you think that the killer is someone else.
