POSITIVES
• It has a Compact Thermoblock water heating system, the machine preheats in just 40 seconds.
• It has a steam nozzle with adjustable height to make hot frothed milk for preparing Cappuccino and Cafe Latte.
• The machine has a fantastic design and a variety of colors.
• It has a width of 15 centimeters to fit anywhere and a length of approximately 35 centimeters.
• It can hold 1 liter of water at the back.
• It is automatic and has a single and double button. Once the user selects the desired amount of coffee in the cup, it stops automatically.
• The user can easily change the default settings for single and double shots according to their taste, and choose to run less or more coffee.
• There is an option to select the temperature of the beverage among 3 temperature levels: Low, medium, high.
• The machine can be set to automatically shut off in 9 minutes, 30 minutes, or 3 hours.
• The top part of the machine, the part that is like a grill, heats up (not to the point of burning, so you won't get burned if you accidentally touch it) so that you can place your cup upside down to warm it up and make coffee in a warm cup to avoid "breaking" the crema.
• The package includes 3 coffee baskets that can be changed: 1 for single shot, 1 for double shot, and 1 for ground espresso in pods (the well-known illy pods).
• The group handle is entirely made of metal and has a sturdy construction with rubber to prevent slipping, while the front part is metallic with a little plastic inside.
• The coffee baskets fit tightly onto the machine's group, so they won't fall off.
• It has a "ready to use" system: it keeps the dispenser always ready to produce coffee.
• Suitable for ground coffee or ESE (Easy Serving Espresso) pods.
• Sturdy, professional filter holder base with crema system for perfect crema.
• User-friendly control panel with 3 illuminated buttons.
• It has an option to adjust water hardness.
• It has a descaling indicator when needed.
• It has a removable two-level drip tray for tall cups (12cm).
• It has a metallic body.
• The package includes a special descaling liquid for when it is needed.
• It comes with a user manual, and I recommend reading it before use as it requires a small procedure for the first time to run water through it to clean the machine.
I have no complaints and no negatives. I was ready to buy the Krups XP3440, but when my friend, who has been working with professional espresso machines for years, saw it, he told me it wasn't worth it.
He recommended the DeLonghi machine, and after researching it, I realized it is much better. It might even be the best machine under 200€. The coffee I drink, depending on the variety each person buys, I prefer illy, and it is on par with the coffee I drink outside. At first, if you don't know how to make coffee, you might be disappointed and think it's not good. Until I learned how to make good coffee, I wasted 20 drinks. But once my friend showed me the tricks of the trade, I started making coffees that I truly enjoyed.
Anyone who buys it will enjoy their coffee. If you don't know, start by getting the cheapest espresso to learn why you will throw away many.
Of course I bought it after watching and reading several reviews as well as the reviews here. I definitely agree with most of what has been said. It's honest for its price, no doubt about that, but after two days of having it, I am already expecting an open portafilter. And the main reason is something I haven't seen anyone emphasize. It's not that its basket, even the double, doesn't hold enough coffee, nor that the crema is "artificial," but that to lock the portafilter into the machine, you have to hold the entire device with the other hand as if you are bracing to tighten a shaft from some motorcycle. My wife is not going to do that. And it's not that I might have gotten a defective one because this is the second, since the first had a small..
The coffee maker does its job well, the coffee has an excellent texture. The only downside is the small frother because it is really unstable, it fell from my hand while I was using it, but this means that it fits back into place very easily after washing. Small and compact machine, impressive appearance. It is worth the money it costs.
With 2-3 extra additions like a bottomless portafilter + basket, a grinder, and a tamper, you will be drinking quality coffee at home. Of course, even with the components it already has, the coffee is still good; it's just that these extras will elevate your coffee. The machine heats up very quickly and is relatively quiet. There is nothing negative to write; it is among the top choices available in this budget (it might even surpass more expensive machines, in my opinion)
Now I have two. The first one has lasted 5 years and continues unstoppable. The new one just entered the store and will pay for itself in 6 months as well
2024: I have the 2017 model, maintenance whenever the machine requests it, and it works perfectly and qualitatively.
Clearly 5 stars, I've had it for almost 5 years. Anyone who wants to buy a machine and wants to spend a little money should be patient and get this machine, with a quality coffee it outshines many takeaways. I wouldn't trade it for any other. Try the dinello siena or the capri. Because I read about illy, if you don't press it well, meaning it shouldn't be too tight, it comes out amazing, but I just don't like it.
This is the second one I am getting. I retired the first one after 5 years of operation, out of fear it might break and I wouldn't have coffee!!! Subjective opinion, but I find it perfect!!! WARNING it doesn't want finely ground coffee, like illy, because it clogs

Good machine especially for beginners. Good coffee even from several cafes. For better results, find a blend from roasteries and a ground portafilter.
Both my wife and I (she is more particular than I am) have cut out coffee from outside. The coffee he makes is really very good. First, get informed about some basic principles in espresso coffee preparation (brewing ratio and extraction times) and then you are ready for many good coffees! 1.5 years of use and it still works like the first day.
The machine is consistent and reliable. The water heats up quickly and the extraction duration is sufficient for our coffee to be aromatic and flavorful. For the past year that I have owned the machine, I have been able to enjoy better coffee at home compared to what many stores offer. I highly recommend the machine.
For its money, it's fine. Compared to a gaggia classic that I have at home and have been using daily for years, the De'Longhi is inferior but if you want a low budget solution this De'Longhi will pleasantly surprise you. For a hot espresso, its pressurized filter basket produces a very satisfactory crema from ready-cut lavazza coffee from the supermarket. With a little practice and adjustment, it is a very good entry level tool.
The coffee maker broke down in two years with moderate use without being pressured. Unfortunately, it didn't prove to be as good as the name it carries.
Very good, even for someone who has no experience in using these machines ... the result depends on the coffee of course, but it is comparable and maybe even better than coffee in a café
Excellent machine for its price. I have had it for about 2 years, the only downside is that its portafilter does not hold enough coffee for the freddo espresso and I had to buy another one. This is of course subjective, but I needed a larger coffee dose and with its portafilter, I often had to make 2 doses.
It has its peculiarities. Second day of use, everything works fine. At least for me. With ground coffee at 2.5 from a coffee shop.
With one scoop fill, in any portafilter and pressing single dose. I drank very good coffee.
When I put two scoops it sticks and doesn't come out at all. Probably needs a bottomless portafilter, maybe even a different grind. So now this is how I will proceed, I do two fills, two singles and I get a pretty good fredo.
There are issues like grind-basket-machine relationship. If you want to make a third coffee in a row you have to let it cool down because it will come out burnt. And maybe other issues.
Overall it is a great value for money purchase if you adapt to its capabilities.
4.5 due to the hassle in extracting coffee with two scoops. I will come back in the future.
After two months, still flawless. With Jacobs espresso exclusiva it makes an incredible fredo. With two scoops it's a bit difficult. With 1.7 scoops incredibly
Awesome! It is semi-automatic and accurately measures the time on its own, depending on the coffee grind and water temperature. It is very compact and fits everywhere!
The coffee is unfortunately just water... No matter what coffee you put in, from expensive to cheap... The filter cup allows you to put very little coffee... If you put more, it bursts and doesn’t brew it... The froth milk is cold milk with bubbles of water... This is the 5th coffee maker I’ve changed in 20 years and it’s the worst and the most expensive of all... Even worse than my first one, a Krups that was terrible, this one is worse... It’s also difficult to use and requires constant cleaning... It gets clogged all the time and many times it doesn’t turn on. I honestly don’t understand the reviews... Maybe these people have never had good coffee in their lives, what can I say, I’m sorry...
Unacceptable. The coffee doesn't run at all. Not powerful at all. I regret not buying the BAMBINO from SAGE for 150 euros more. I've had it for two months and I posted an ad to sell it.
Maybe the best espresso coffee shop I've had so far (I've changed 3). I've had it for about 2 years and we make an average of 3 coffees daily.
Excellent machine, makes great coffee.
Undoubtedly the best choice at this price. Easy to use, easy to clean, and with good quality materials. As a home machine and not a professional one, it is decent for both hot and cold coffee. In any case, you need to experiment until you achieve the desired result for your coffee. And above all, read the instructions carefully to properly program the machine.
Personally, I only struggled with the milk frother, but the mistake was mine until I figured out the proper way to prepare it. I tried different temperatures with the milk and eventually the perfect frothed milk is made at 55-60 degrees Celsius, with any type of milk.
It is better to purchase a better tamper (because the one it comes with is plastic and can easily break) and the machine is value for money in every aspect.
I have it for more than a month and I declare myself excited.
I read the instructions before using it and I didn't need to look at them again.
Personally, I drink espresso and cappuccino.
The frothy milk is shockingly good.
Excellent machine...Reliable coffee, easy operation and cleaning (every now and then needed).
I have it for 1.5 years and I am absolutely satisfied.
I have not made any adjustments and still the coffee is very good (both freddo and cappuccino).
I suggest trying some coffee varieties and finding the one you like best.
In many cases, your coffee will be better even than cafes outside.
Excellent quality coffee in cold or hot. Very helpful functions for the best result for each variety of coffee you choose.
Quality coffee, I have stopped buying from outside since I bought it. It is worth every penny!!
