Since the existence of psychotropic drugs, many patients have been cutting off their medications on their own. We can assume that for many of them, this leads to a "relapse" solely for this reason, naturally leading them to a new compulsory intake of psychotropic drugs. I am sure that many such efforts would be successful if the individuals involved and their families were aware of the potential problems and had an idea of what they should do in order to avoid relapse. Mental health professionals, with few exceptions, hardly think at all about how to support their clients when they decide to stop taking medication. However, turning our backs on these people and leaving them to face their problem alone shows a low level of responsibility awareness.
