We would dare to characterize our difficult times as particularly blessed, considering that despite the "abundance" of sin, God reveals sanctified figures, who with their godly life, asceticism, words, writings, and especially their example, have supported and continue to support countless Christian souls.In recent decades, many Elder monks and hieromonks have lived in Greece, whose spiritual influence was not confined to their Monastery or Hermitage of repentance, but extended to a wider circle of Christians in the world. Before these figures gained any influence outside the Monastery, they fought hard in the spiritual arena with prayers, fasting, exercises, obedience, and poverty. They learned not to yield to the furious attacks of the devil.
