We use them for hiking. Great value for money. The range is always relative to obstacles. 300 - 400m if there is a hill with trees, over 5Km when there is line of sight. Easy to use even for anyone, strong and clear sound (when the signal is good). I put them on with 3 rechargeable AAA 1000mAh batteries, and they last almost 5 * 5-hour hikes with moderate use, constantly on standby! No license needed. We use CTCSS subtones to have fewer interferences and not hear anyone. On the contrary, conversations are never private and someone unknown can always receive our transmission.

7.2 km without obstacles and with a 400m altitude difference, calculation with google earth link. Comfortable and crystal clear communication as if it's from the next room.

It is a very good solution for communication. Easy menu. Many recognitions. Very durable. Great height up to 2 to 3 km in an area with buildings. They are worth their money.
