Forty-five interviews with "ordinary people" who experienced the events of the 1940s. The interviews took place in Sydney, Australia, in 2007 and 2008 in an effort to highlight: a) the importance of oral testimony as a supplementary source to official historical sources, and b) the reconstruction of this period based on the historical narrative of the people who responded to the research. Through the texts, there is a thorough exploration of the factors, social, political, and cultural, within which memories were preserved and influenced later life.
