The abduction of German General "Kreipe", commander of the ground forces of "Fortress Crete" - Festung Kreta - by two British officers and a small group of Cretans in late April 1944 and his transfer after a dramatic effort to Egypt, has been characterized as one of the boldest ventures of World War II.
The book, written by G. Harokopos who participated in the venture during the transfer of the general from the mountains of Crete to Marsa Matruh in Egypt, is the updated fifth edition (2008) with new information and photographs.

Although I did not buy this book from skroutz, I believe I owe it to give it a review since I read it. It is a very good book that I would recommend to anyone interested in the Greek side of World War II. It refers to historical events that many people are not aware of, and someone would say that they only exist in movies. A very good book that unfortunately many Greeks have not read.
