The articles of the book are based on the presentations made by their authors in four seminars organized by the Nikos Poulantzas Institute in May and June 2007, on the topic "Socialism in the 21st century". The seminars were conducted by Thanasis Vakalios and Stelios Bampas. In each of these four meetings, the speakers presented their thoughts on some of the many issues that concern the contemporary radical Left, and after their speeches, extensive and interesting discussions followed, which are available on the Institute's website (www.poulantzas.gr).
