If I have to admit that this specific blade provides a close shave, it doesn't suit my skin. No matter how much I tried, I haven't been able to complete a shave without irritation and some pulling. In contrast, the feather, for example, even though it is sharper, doesn't cause me any problems. I am relatively new to traditional shaving, still trying out different blades, but so far, this one has been the worst experience for me.

Did you find this review helpful?I have been using it since March 2023 as an alternative to Astor stainless. Recently, I made a second order with a price of 1.4€ per pack of 5, which means that I am satisfied with their performance. The Permasharp is one of the best choices for a mild razor. It works perfectly with the Muhle R89, which I use very often. It is very sharp but also gentle. No irritations or cuts at all. However, things change with an aggressive razor. With the Muhle R41, which I use once a week, it cuts well and provides a close shave without creating micro cuts if you know what you're doing. HOWEVER, it feels like it's exfoliating your skin and after shaving, you feel a slight pulling sensation. It does NOT cause redness, but it still pulls your skin even if you have used the Haslinger shaving soap, which feels very good post-shave. With the Astor stainless and the Feather, which are similar or even sharper, I never had this problem. In terms of lifespan, it lasts for at least 6-7 shaves. Conclusion: Excellent with a mild razor and quite good and safe with an aggressive razor. I bought it again and it will be among the blades I will use.

I did 5 (five) shaves, every three days, without irritation, but with quite a lot of pore openings, hence the specific rating. After a lot of searching for all the above, without the pore openings, I finally found it in Gillette Nacet.

The rating that follows is based on the following data: I have tough beard and shave every 2nd or 3rd day, always use pre-shave and use tallow-based soaps. The razor is Merkur Slant 39c.
Aggressiveness/Sharpness: 8/10
Smoothness*: 9/10
Sharpness Duration**: Up to 3 shaves.* I evaluate smoothness during the shave (if the blade doesn't stick or tug, then it is smooth). I do not evaluate the smoothness of the end result since with traditional shaving, you can always achieve a smooth skin (BBS).
** I do 3 passes with each shave.

One of the sharpest blades along with Feather.
If you have an aggressive razor and you are a beginner or have poor technique, the only sure thing is that you will cut yourself and have irritations. It's not the blade's fault.
In the first shaves, I had irritations, but after a few shaves and with caution, I have amazing shaves with these blades, just like Feather.
