Coming from the same base but with a suction cup, I have to say that this one is a much better choice for my case since the CD slot in my car is quite high (2015 Ford Fiesta). The previous one I had stuck to the dashboard and it blocked the car's screen. Before receiving it, I was worried that it might obstruct the buttons near the slot, but since it protrudes, it doesn't block anything.
Other than that, the base is very stable and it's super easy to put your phone in and take it out of the hooks, which automatically adjust to the size of the phone you place on them, without worrying that it will "fall off."

Chair owner for over two years. While in the first few months it was the most comfortable thing I have used, over time the material of the cushions compressed, resulting in it becoming hard and uncomfortable. Even the detachable back cushion has changed shape and no matter the height I put it at, it is uncomfortable. If I had the financial means, I would have changed the chair a year ago. However, the assembly seemed relatively easy to me and in terms of stability, it is fine.
