The arrival of a young Greek-Jewish teacher in a mountainous village of Crete in the year 2000, as well as the Easter custom of burning Judas, provide an opportunity for an incision into the "inviolable" of modern mountainous societies of the island, and for the unfolding of an old Cretan tradition that attributes to the biblical figure of Judas the fate of the mythical Oedipus.

Law and illegality, loves and rituals, murders and silences, groundbreaking but also outdated perceptions, compose a scene full of conflicts and contradictions, within which the young woman seeks the roots of her troubled family history.

At the same time, the myth surrounding Judas and Oedipus, a myth about absolute evil, walks its own dark paths: it starts from the depths of time and reaches our days, to serve but also to interpret the rigid structures of the closed mountainous societies.

A "double" book, revealing that myth and contemporary life intertwine into a single body, just as literature and reality do.
