The first thing one gains from studying the life and work of Polykleitos Regos is that he is a "complete" artist. [...] Modest and humble, permanently settled in his homeland, Thessaloniki, he dedicated himself to his work and his family and did not cultivate those mechanisms that would promote and establish him. [...] Polykleitos Regos undoubtedly deserves more attention than he has been given so far in Greek art history. [...] His artistic concerns led him to experiment with various techniques such as oil painting, egg painting, watercolor, woodcut, fresco, as well as mixed techniques, creating a body of work that covers a wide range of subjects: portraits, landscapes, nudes, still lifes, compositions with folkloric, historical, or symbolic content. [...] This monograph attempts a comprehensive presentation of Polykleitos Regos, aiming to serve as a starting point for a deeper understanding of the man, the artist, and his creations.
