Description

Rear tire of motorcycle Scorpion Trail II of the company Pirelli. It is suitable for on-off-road driving, meaning it can be used both on the road (asphalt) and off-road routes. It should be noted that tires of this type are a compromise for both uses.

Its dimensions are 150/70-17. That is, it has a width of 150mm, a profile of 70, and can be mounted on a 17" rim. The profile in tires, meaning the height of the tire's sidewall, is always referred to as a clean number without a unit of measurement as it is a percentage of the width. For example, a 180/55 tire has a width of 180mm and a profile of 55, meaning it has a profile of 180 x 0.55 = 99mm.

The load index and the speed index are two other important characteristics of tires. Specifically, the load index is the maximum load under which the tires are expected to operate properly and is described by an integer number, which corresponds to kilograms, while the speed index is the maximum speed under which the tires are expected to operate properly and is described by a letter from the English alphabet, which corresponds to kilometers per hour. It should be noted that the maximum kilograms, corresponding to the load index, are referred to per tire.

Note: The maximum weight increases proportionally with the load index number, meaning that the larger the number, the greater the maximum operating weight of the tire. Similarly, the maximum speed increases as the letter of the speed index "increases", meaning that the speed index "S" corresponds to a lower speed than that of the "V" index.

In this case, the tire is 69V, meaning that the load index and the speed index are 69 and V respectively.

The TL marking comes from the initials of the words Tubeless Tyres. Tires bearing this marking do not require an inner tube.

I put them on a vstrom 650. I have them for a few days and I can't have a complete opinion. I will come back in a little while with my evaluation. So far, I am satisfied in the month that I wear them.

I have a Varadero 1000 with Ohlins. I initially had the Metzeler Next tires and decided to try the Pirelli ones, thinking that they would be worth it due to their reputation. Big mistake. I only got 14,000 km out of them, and they didn't wear out enough, but the grip was terrible. They are definitely not worth it in any case. I will definitely not put them on again.

I have done many kilometers with these tires for one tire and I am 27 years old with everything that entails. I am from Ioannina: lots of rain..! Motorcycle dl650 05'

The tires have taken a lot of turns, I have tried to spin them on the asphalt on turns in the city as well as at traffic lights with some acceleration. They perform excellently on the bike, just need to accelerate and they don't spin easily.

In turns, even if I entered wrong or too fast, they were there. I have touched the ground with my foot in a very wrong angle of the turn. Even there, the bike didn't move.

Fast riding at 8 in the morning: anchors!

Loaded heavily on national roads, however, I noticed the following. They become square. I went to a "track" and they recovered quite well. We are talking about tires with 18,000 km.

For off-road...? You pass with caution!

If I would buy them again??? YES!

Should I not put them on?? No, try them and you will remember me!

Update--> After 25,000 km, they were changed because they became square. The wear was normal for the style of riding I did. Dunlop RoadSmart III were chosen. I felt a little better with the previous Pirelli tires.

I wear them on a v strom 650. Even better than the first generation. Solid feeling in turns and absolute confidence in fast driving. Superior to Bridgestone 502, I will never change brand. Also remarkably low wear.
