Description

Twenty years after the annexation of Thessaly to Greece, the farmers of the Thessalian plain live as serfs. The tyranny of the Turks has been succeeded by the greed of the Greek landowners, who not only suck the sweat but also the blood of the peasants. The state remains indifferent. During that period, a law student from Kefalonia, Marinos Antypas, travels across the Thessalian plain and, with the motto "Equality, Brotherhood, Freedom," tries to persuade the peasants to claim their rights and awaken the state. At the same time, Haris Kamarianos, a resident of the Thessalian plain, a medical student, and a friend and comrade of Antypas during the Cretan Revolution, meets Agni after a fateful encounter. The two young people fall in love, but they have to fight against the vengefulness of a ruthless landowner. They are supported by an unexpected ally. And despite the continuous blows and difficulties, they never stop looking at each new moon with eyes full of dreams.
A gripping novel, full of faith in humanity.

Review this product
  • Indifferent, full of clichés, the plot is all over the place. Very predictable. And somewhere towards the end, it randomly introduces Marino Antypas for no reason.
