  I use it as a grill (besides making sandwiches and tortillas) for grilling meat! It is a very fast solution, especially for those who want quick grilling due to obligations. The burger is excellent in 10 minutes (I will come back with a photo). The beef fillet, it makes it in 2 minutes, timed. Since 2020, I have been using it every day and it withstands even my dog. The surface temperature at the highest setting is 304 degrees, measured with an infrared thermometer (for those who want this information). I would like it to be a little more powerful. The only thing that has broken is the knob for adjusting the setting, it has some teeth inside that make a noise and function as a brake. Now it has broken and turns freely, although it hasn't affected its operation. The plates underneath are easy to clean with warm water and a soft brush, once it has cooled down a bit but still warm. If you leave it for days and do more grilling, the charred fat won't come off and the temperature will be too high. It requires thorough cleaning to maintain it.

  UPDATE 26/01/2024: The thermostat stopped working. At first, I heard the teeth when turning it. After about 6 months, it stopped turning off. I had to unplug it. It lasted for 4 years. I used it 3-4 times a day

  But I have taken it for service 3 times in 2 years.
  Yesterday was the last time I took it as they told me that the repair cost is 30 euros.

  Far away! I had a smaller model from the company for 4 years and it only fried, it didn't cook! The heating element broke and couldn't be fixed, so I decided to get a bigger and better one from the same company since I was completely satisfied....
  I've had it for about 2 years and it rarely cooks....the plates broke on the wing! We even put well-oiled burgers on medium...
  wrong! They came out black and uncooked in the first five minutes....I think it's too powerful and the plates can't handle it...what a shame....

  I bought a Delonghi CG298.BK from a large store a year ago. Before even a year of occasional use (not daily) and with simple and proper use (only sandwiches and toast without metal forks, spoons, etc.), the material covering the plates started to come off and transfer onto the bread during the cooking process. Extremely dangerous for health!!! Absolutely unacceptable for such a company, but also for an expensive product compared to others of its kind. Even more outrageous is the fact that the store's warranty (for which I paid extra for an extension) does not cover the plates, only the heating element!! The manufacturer's service informed me that I would have to take it to them for inspection and IF they approve, then maybe they will replace the plates with the exact same ones! Thank you very much, but I will not deal with this anymore. I will not buy a device from this company again, nor from the same chain of stores!
