Eight peculiar friends: a little moon, a small lemon tree, a girl wearing wooden shoes, a toll collector, a donkey with a sailor hat, a woman who constantly changes age, two shiny olives, and an incredible queen gather on a sunny day and embark on a journey to solve the mystery that has been tormenting them for a long time: why fairy tales exist. They enter an abandoned rotten ship they find in a shipyard, take a map and compass with them, and raise the sails. However, they encounter a big storm and decide to throw into the sea those who have the heaviest story in order to save the others. But how will they weigh the stories? Just in time, a mermaid appears and gives them the appropriate balance. And then the travelers start telling their stories, that is, the fairy tales, while the donkey captain weighs them using his golden buttons as weights. Before they reach a conclusion about who has the heaviest story and while commenting on their content amidst the storm, the ship sinks. At the same time, however, a pink whale appears, carrying on its back the island of fairy tales and saves them. There, the heroes of the fairy tales meet the Lord of the island, Mr. Fairy, who will playfully give them the answer to the question that torments them, namely why fairy tales exist. The gathering ends with a feast.
