After "Journey to Greece" (State Novel Award 2014), the book "Marbles in the Middle" is the second part of the Difficult Times trilogy. The story continues through successive narratives and different versions of the heroes' past.

The narration takes place in the early years of the last decade of the twentieth century. The changes that have occurred in Greek society, the elements of European influence, the changes in the composition and form of the family due to the conflict of generations, are projected through the old and new heroes.

The author, in his characteristic writing style, composes a novelistic mosaic, where the heroes of the first book interact with the new ones and reflect elements of the harsh Greek reality of that era.
